Debbie Wolfe
Are your linens and upholstery smelling a little stale, but not quite ready for a wash? Give them a spritz, instead! This homemade lavender linen spray requires only three simple ingredients and can be used to freshen bed sheets, upholstered furniture and more. Plus, lavender essential oil is loaded with benefits. Not only can it help reduce stress and anxiety and encourage better sleep, but it boasts antibacterial and antifungal properties, helping rid your furniture of odors for good.
What You'll Need
- 16 oz spray bottle
- distilled water
- witch hazel (or vodka)
- lavender essential oil
Mix Water + Witch Hazel

Debbie Wolfe
Combine one cup of distilled water and one cup of witch hazel (or vodka) in a measuring cup with a spout. The witch hazel will help the spray dry faster.
Add Essential Oil

Debbie Wolfe
Add about 20 drops of lavender essential oil. Essential oils are strong, so a little goes a long way. Mix the ingredients together and pour into a glass spray bottle.
Shake + Spray

Attach the spray nozzle and give the mixture a gentle shake. Spray on your bed sheets before you climb in for the night, on your towels to give them a nice scent before you get in the shower or on your couch when it’s time to wind down after a long day. Pro tip: test on an inconspicuous area first.
Keep a bottle of this lavender linen spray on hand to freshen your house in a pinch or mix up a few bottles to give as thoughtful gifts.
