Kat and Mike have a virtual double date with superstar couple Allison Holker Boss and Stephen “tWitch” Boss to talk about their new show Design Star: Next Gen. Allison is the host of the show and tWitch is a guest judge. On the show, eight designers/renovators are brought to a custom compound where they face a gauntlet of challenges to compete for their own HGTV show and $50,000. Allison and tWitch discuss some of the show’s tougher competitions as well as some of the quirkier projects like transforming a bus, caboose or airplane into a living space.

Meet the Contestants Competing for $50K on 'Design Star: Next Gen'

The competition's fierce, and the prize is big. Get to know the eight talented contestants.

The couples chat about marriage, parenting and the most important thing they are teaching their kids. Allison shares her story of going into labor at a Home Goods store and why she insisted on checking out before going to the hospital to give birth. Allison and tWitch also talk about how they met on the dancing competition show So You Think You Can Dance, and they reveal who made the first move on whom.

Defend the Trend: Time to Put a Stop to Signs?

In our Defend the Trend segment of the podcast, Kat and Mike ask Allision and tWitch if they think word affirmation signs like “live, laugh, love” are still on trend. Both couples are still big fans of affirmation word art. Allison takes it a step further and suggests using neon signage to take it up a notch.
