How Jenny and Dave Marrs Host the Ultimate Outdoor Dinner Party

When Jenny and Dave Marrs aren’t filming their hit show Fixer to Fabulous, you’ll find them at home with their five kids, four dogs, a donkey and 1,500 blueberry bushes. The HGTV stars run a blueberry farm in Bentonville, Arkansas, and they donate all the proceeds to support at-risk youth in Zimbabwe. (The couple has a strong connection to causes in Africa because their oldest daughter is adopted from there.)

“We wanted to give our community a place to come together and get a slice of farm life and also make an impact in the lives of children globally,” Jenny says. To celebrate this partnership, and kick off blueberry-picking season, Jenny and Dave invited supporters and friends over for dinner on the farm. Dave built the table and benches out of planks of cedar a few days before the event. To string the lights, he sunk metal rods into the ground and secured them with cement.

The menu featured pizza and pasta inspired by the couple’s time in Tuscany, where they filmed Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano. “There’s something so magical about dining under the stars at a communal table, which we did often in Italy. We wanted to bring a piece of that culture back to our community,” says Jenny. “And who doesn’t love Italian food?

The Piccolina truck came all the way from Fredericksburg, Texas! The company, known for its small-batch Italian ices, created the night’s signature cocktail: a scoop of blueberry or peach ice topped with prosecco.

This dreamy summer table is inviting and effortlessly chic thanks to a curated mix: amber glassware, green plates, brass candle holders with ochre tapers and muslin napkins (from Marrs Mercantile) folded loosely at each place setting.

Instead of formal flower arrrangements, Jenny and her friends plucked Queen Anne’s lace from around the property. “I wanted the table to feel whimsical and romantic but not fancy,” says Jenny.

Vintage glassware helps create the romantic, enchanting look Jenny was after.

Jenny used silver punch bowls filled with ice to hold bottles of sweet tea and herb- and blueberry-infused water. So much prettier than ice buckets!

Jenny’s 17-year-old niece created all the cheese boards for the event (she’s studying food science at college in the fall). The boards were designed and built by the Marrs’ twin boys.

“Setting up one long table makes it feel like a family dinner,” says Jenny. “When you’re passing food, you’re able to connect with the person next to you, and those connections make the world feel smaller — that’s always our goal.”
