Jonathan's must-haves for this renovation: A family-friendly house with lots of amenties. He bought this 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom house for $155,000, and budgeted $60,000 for the renovation. He'll save on labor costs by doing much of the work himself.

A dining area sits just inside the door, while the eye goes straight to the two-story living area in this white-on-white space.

Warm colors and rustic accents, along with updated floors, paint and bold accents, make this living room feel cozy and inviting.
