Brother Vs. Brother, Los Angeles: A Season-Seven Sneak Peek

Coming Attractions. As we reported earlier, HGTV's most high-profile twins Drew and Jonathan Scott are set to go full-on Hollywood in the latest chapter in their epic and ongoing battle of wits, endurance, subterfuge and renovation/design chops — the perennial sibling grudge match known as Brother Vs. Brother. The time is nigh. Buckle up. The gloves are about to come off.

The backdrop for this competition: Two vintage but aesthetically challenged mansions will undergo major repairs and upgrades to transform them into neighborhood showpieces, with each brother responsible for all phases of the remodeling of one of the homes. This year there's a bonus familial subtext as the competition this time around takes place in LA's historic Hancock Park — the neighborhood where brother Drew and his bride Linda make their home in a renovated historic house of their own.

As renovations and prep get underway, Drew offers evidence that he means business, getting creative with some industrial tools and hardware.

Jonathan stylishly sports a burgundy Henley and one of his most serious tool belts as work gets underway on his project house.

Drew and Jonathan partake in some local food-truck cuisine when an ice cream truck inexplicably appears at the work site.

We could probably have predicted where this was headed.

Drew works in a secret loft that will be integrated as part of an upstairs kid's bedroom.

Jonathan checks out wood samples for shelves and paneling for a newly redesigned closet in his project home.

The traditional parlor in Drew's house is highlighted by an impressive staircase and landing. Both spaces offer an excellent opportunity for some creative design embellishments.

The massive living room offers another space with potential for an elegant re-imagining.

The main kitchen in Drew's house (yes, the main kitchen) is not your standard-fare kitchen space and offers a blank slate for something truly spectacular.

The living room in Jonathan's project house comes with wood flooring and a sizable fireplace.

The dining room could perhaps use some new window treatments, among other things.

Like the dining room, the kitchen is somewhat overdue for a modern upgrade.

This space just off the kitchen previously served as a dedicated wine room.

Despite what it may look like, this is not from an opening montage for Game of Thrones. Drew uses a grinder to cut a rebar as he removes the fireplace's outer hearth.

In the latter stages of the renovations, Jonathan works on the custom vanity in the main-floor powder room of his project house.
