Chicken and Waffle Sliders Recipe
Crispy fried chicken and fresh-baked waffles come together to create an irresistible sweet-and-savory brunch dish or tasty light bite for any get-together.

Ingredients
Waffles
- Your favorite waffle batter mix (like buttermilk, sweet potato, or apple cinnamon)
- non-stick cooking spray
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 eggs
- salt and pepper
- oil for frying
Compound Butter
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/4 cup high-quality maple syrup, plus extra for serving with sliders
Instructions
1: Preheat the waffle iron and prepare the waffle batter mix according to the directions on the package. Once heated, lightly spray the waffle iron with a non-stick cooking spray. Bake four waffles and set them aside on a wire rack.

2: Combine the maple syrup and butter in a small bowl to make a compound butter.

3: Cut each chicken thigh in half and season with salt and pepper. Pour the flour into a gallon-size storage bag, add the chicken, and shake until chicken is well coated.
4: Crack the eggs into a medium bowl and add 1 tablespoon of water. Gently whisk eggs and water to make an egg wash. Dunk the floured chicken in the egg wash, then place chicken back in the bag with the flour and shake again.
5: Pour the oil into a Dutch oven and heat to 375 degrees. Fry the chicken in small batches for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Drain cooked chicken on a plate covered with paper towels.
6: To assemble sliders, cut each waffle into four equal pieces. Spread compound butter on the inside of each waffle piece. Place a piece of fried chicken on top of the buttered waffle then top with another waffle (Image 1). Serve each guest two assembled sliders with heated maple syrup on the side (Image 2).
