How to Make a Deco Mesh Wreath

- pipe cleaners
- red, green and white deco mesh

Step 1: Attach Deco Mesh Ends

If using as a Christmas tree skirt alternative, start by measuring the tree stand and make sure your wire wreath form fits. Our wreath form is 24 inches. With pipe cleaners, tie the ends of each color of deco mesh to the top wire of one side of the wreath form. We used red, green and white deco mesh.
Step 2: Create Loops

Pull each color through the openings between the wires to create loops. Larger loops cover the wreath form and give it a fluffier look. Tip: When dealing with deco mesh, it can get pretty messy, especially with three colors. Try to keep each color separate so they don’t stick to each other.
Step 3: Alternate Colors

Alternate the colors in the pattern you like, and keep looping through until the wreath is completely covered. We chose red to white to green to white and continued that pattern all the way through. Tip: if you mess up the color pattern along the way, keep looping and continue the original pattern. The finished wreath is so fluffy, you won’t even notice.
Step 4: Tie Deco Mesh Ends

Once you’ve finished looping the whole wreath, turn over the form, and cut the ends of the deco mesh. With one pipe cleaner, tie all the ends of the colors of mesh together, and then tie them to the bottom wreath form wire to secure in place. Put it under your tree for the perfect tree skirt alternative.
