How to Make a Christmas Village Wreath
Create a winter holiday village wreath without the hefty price tag. This budget-friendly DIY project looks like high-end wreaths that cost over $100, but we were able to make ours for a lot less.
With a pre-made faux wreath, miniature wood houses and bottle brush trees, we were able to assemble this wreath in an afternoon. We gave our wreath a monochromatic, winter-white look, but you can use multicolored houses and trees to make it more colorful or to match your holiday color palette.

1. Prepare a Neutral Canvas
Place the artificial wreath on a protected work surface, then begin fluffing the branches, separating and straightening each branch to create a full and even base. Apply a coat of spray paint to the wreath. (Spray from various angles to ensure complete coverage.) Let the wreath dry, then flip it over to paint the other side.

2. Prep the Houses
Assemble your miniature houses if needed. For a monochromatic look like ours, give them a matching coat of paint. Allow the wreath and houses to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

3. Embellish the Houses
Use a white paint marker to add decoration and dimension to your houses. Create the illusion of snow by drawing delicate lines on the rooftops, or cover the entire roof in white paint. Add festive dots around the windows and door with white and gold paint for a touch of sparkle.

4. Assemble the Village
Nestle the painted houses into the wreath, securing them with hot glue. (Use silicone finger protectors to avoid burns.) Carefully remove the wooden bases from your bottle brush trees with wire cutters. Arrange the larger trees around the sides of the wreath, creating a balanced landscape. Fill in the spaces between the houses with clusters of smaller trees, adding depth to your winter village. Once your charming scene is complete, hang your wreath and enjoy its festive charm.
