Get to Know Leslie
Who Is Leslie?
Leslie has been making audiences laugh for decades. Best known for her unforgettable years on Saturday Night Live, she's also starred in films like Ghostbusters and Coming 2 America. She's become one of comedy's most recognizable voices.
Leslie's Upbringing
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Leslie grew up in a military family, which meant moving often throughout her childhood. Between many moves and decades of touring as a comedian and actress, she jokes she's "been on the road for years." She’s seen her share of hotels and rentals — giving her plenty of time to rack up rental horror stories of her own. Her firsthand experience with rentals has given her great instincts on what makes a great getaway (and what definitely doesn’t).
Humor Is Central to Her Life
Leslie doesn’t hold back — that’s the whole premise of Roast My Rental. She’s not afraid to point out questionable decorating choices or downright creepy spaces. “This is definitely a serial killer’s den,” she says of one property on the show.
… But She Cares About Solving the Problem
The series isn't just about the roasts. Leslie wants to take the properties they visit from “stay out” to “stay here.” Working alongside renovation expert Jasmine, Leslie meets with the property owners to discuss the changes that need to happen in order for them to win back their guests.
“We’re gonna make that dream come true, how about that?” Leslie tells one pair of owners. Under the roast, there’s real investment in fixing these places up.

Does Leslie Like Design?
While comedy is her specialty, Leslie is also an avid HGTV fan with surprisingly sharp design instincts. Throughout the series, she weighs in on everything from layouts, decor and the overall guest experience while helping Jasmine pinpoint the changes that will make each rental feel more functional, welcoming and bookable.
