Prime Day is back! Amazon just announced via press release that its Black Friday-level, mega shopping event featuring more than two million deals globally for Prime members will take place June 21 and 22. Just in time to kick off summer, Prime Day 2021 will feature can’t-miss deals from top brands such as iRobot, Samsung and more than a million deals from small and medium-sized businesses selling on Amazon. Here's what you need to know about the big savings event.
Prime Day Is Only for Prime Members
If you're not already a Prime member, sign up for a free trial so you can shop the sale and enjoy the many, many benefits of a Prime membership. Starting today and for a limited time, new U.S. Prime members who sign up for Prime using an Echo device will receive a $5 Amazon credit. Just say, “Alexa, sign me up for Prime.”
How to Get a $10 Credit for Prime Day
Last year, Amazon postponed the sale event, which typically happens in July, to October due to the pandemic and introduced a spend-now-save-later deal to support small business sellers, and the retailer is bringing the same promotion back for this year's event. As part of Amazon’s new investment of more than $100 million to help small business sellers succeed, Prime members can get a $10 credit to spend on Prime Day when they spend $10 on items sold by select small businesses in Amazon’s Handmade and Launchpad stores from June 7 to June 20.
You Can Support Small-Business Sellers
This year, more than 300,000 sellers are eligible for the “Spend $10, Get $10” promotion — more than twice as many as last year — giving customers more opportunities to support small businesses. Amazon has curated collections to connect customers with small businesses at amazon.com/supportsmall. Customers can shop across collections, including from Black-owned, woman-owned, and military family-owned small businesses.
Prime members can also shop via Amazon Live. On Monday, June 7, customers can shop alongside Kristen Bell, Karamo Brown and Mindy Kaling who will be joined by some of their favorite small business owners. Throughout Prime Day, Amazon Live will spotlight deals curated from small businesses across Amazon. Viewers will also have the opportunity to hear directly from business owners, learn more about their products and shop their Prime Day deals during a reoccurring segment called Small Business Showcase on June 21 and June 22.
