Plywood Tabletop Replacement

Materials Needed:
- pressure-treated plywood
- table base
- tape measure
- notepad
- pencil
- tablecloth
- wood or metal screws
- nuts
- drill
- drill bit
- wrench
Step 1: Determine Shape and Size
To maximize seating, determine the proper shape and size for replacement top. Use tape measure to gather dimensions for length and width, then jot measurements down on notepad using pencil.
Tip: Round tabletops accommodate more chairs and are best for conversation; long, rectangular tops are ideal for narrow spaces.
Step 2: Have Plywood Pre-Cut
Referring to dimensions on notepad, have a 4' x 8' sheet of pressure-treated plywood cut to size at local home improvement store.
Step 3: Mark and Drill Holes
Lay pre-cut, pressure-treated plywood on top of table base. Use pencil to mark holes for screws in relation to where they attach to base. Add bit to drill, then drill through plywood to create hole.
Step 4: Install Screws
Using drill, add screws through holes and into table base.

Step 5: Secure With Nuts
Using wrench, add nuts to screws from underneath top and tighten.

Step 6: Conceal Plywood
Place tablecloth atop plywood, ensuring drop edges conceal all four sides.
