How to Make a Flower Harness and Leash for Your Dog
Dress up your pup for a special occasion with this DIY floral harness and coordinating leash. It’s the perfect accessory for a flower girl or "Dog of Honor" at a wedding.

Materials Needed
- dog harness (adjusted to fit your dog)
- 6-foot leash
- artificial flower bouquets
- 10-foot artificial garland
- scissors
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- twist ties (optional)
NOTE: We made this project for a 10-pound dog and used two flower bouquets (one pink and one white) to cover a size-small step-in harness and matching leash. If your dog is larger, you may need extra bouquets.
Remove Flowers From Bouquets
Grab your bouquet and pop the flowers off the stems; they should come off easily (Image 1). If a small amount of stem remains on the underside of the flower, cut it off with scissors (Image 2). You want the bottom of the flowers to be as flat as possible so they're easy to attach to the harness.

Remove Leaves From Bouquets
Next, cut the leaves off the bouquets (Image 1). Keep your flowers and leaves close at hand to prepare for the next step (Image 2).

Glue Flowers to Harness
Heat up your glue gun and start gluing the flowers to the harness (Images 1 and 2). We alternated between pink and white flowers, leaving varying amounts of space between them to fill in with leaves (Image 3). Set any extra flowers to the side to use on the leash.

Glue Leaves to Harness
Fill in the gaps between flowers with leaves. Start with a dab of hot glue next to a flower (Image 1), then tuck the leaf slightly under the flower for a more natural look (Image 2). Continue overlapping the leaves until the harness looks lush and full. Set any extra leaves to the side.

Attach Garland to Leash
Secure one end of the garland to one end of the leash with hot glue and let cool. (Alternatively, you can use twist ties.) Wrap the garland around the leash (Image 1), securing it with hot glue or twist ties in several places (Image 2). Once you've reached the end of the leash, you should have enough garland leftover to wrap it a second time in the other direction. When you've finished wrapping, use hot glue or twist ties to secure the other end of the garland to the leash.

Fill in Leash With Flowers and Leaves
Like you did with the harness, fill in the bare spots on the leash with flowers and leaves until you're satisfied with the way it looks. You can also use flowers to cover up any glue used to secure the garland.

Your pup is ready to party! This DIY harness is the perfect way to dress up your doggo for a wedding, engagement photoshoot or other special event. As long as you adjust it to fit her before attaching the flowers, it should be quite comfortable.
