Ruggable’s Latest Collection With Humberto Leon Is the Finishing Touch Your Dorm Room Needs

What Is the Ruggable U by Humberto Leon Collab?

To help kick off back-to-school shopping with function and style, fashion designer-turned-restaurateur Humberto Leon, known for his creative work with Opening Ceremony, Kenzo and Katseye, teamed up with Ruggable on a chic collection of stain-resistant, machine-washable rugs.

“Thinking about what a space does for you as a person and how you can personalize it, it doesn’t feel that different from clothing,” Leon said in an interview with PEOPLE. “Your space is a place that is indicative of a personality.”

Humberto applied this concept in his own restaurants before releasing it into the world with Ruggable. “[When designing a restaurant] I wanted to think about every facet of [the customer’s] senses—whether it’s what you’re sitting on or what fork you’re holding or the table that you’re leaning on, I always think about every detail,” he told PEOPLE. “A rug is the first thing I think about whenever I’m decorating a space because I want to know how I’m going to ground the room.”

How to ground a room, however, is subjective, which is why Humberto launched a range of rugs to fit every aesthetic preference. The Ruggable U by Humberto Leon collab is comprised of three collections, each with its own distinct story: the Regency Charm Collection, the Varsity Prep Collection, and the Stagecoach Collection.
