To open up the interior, stock cabinetry on one side of the 5-foot marble vanity was removed. Cast-glass sinks, penny tile and wall art, displayed in the room's water closet, infuse the space with color.
"Originally we wanted to do a trough-style sink in here," says Lindsay, who opted for oversized basin-style sinks in an ice blue hue. "An intriguing feature, you can see the countertop through the sinks."
A deep mossy green wall color elevates the design of a private water closet, outfitted with both an elongated, dual-flush toilet and an Art Deco-style horizontal spray bidet.
Featuring colors similar to those found in bedroom accessories, abstract expressionist paintings by Miami and Atlanta-based artist Anthony Liggins create a cohesive link between adjoining spaces.
Mint-colored frosted glass penny-round tile animates the shower surround. A 2-foot-deep cast-iron soaking tub, topped with contemporary fixtures, offers a luxurious spa escape.
The nozzle pattern, internal waterway design and air-induction system of the single-function showerhead creates an indulgent shower experience.
Lending a natural element and the needed pop of color, a mercury-glass vase, inspired by the design of a nighttime city skyline, holds a solitary split-leaf philodendron.
