15 Sweet Nursery Designs from HGTV Stars

No room is overlooked when it comes to our HGTV Stars. They deck out kids' spaces, transform kitchens and revamp living rooms — so it's no surprise they have the sweetest ideas for nurseries, too. From their own babies' rooms to their besties' little ones, they know how to create a space that satisfies both parents and their newborns alike. Get inspired by these playful, functional and heartfelt designs.

Without knowing the gender of their client's baby, Fixer to Fabulous hosts Jenny and Dave designed a sunny oasis fit for a boy or a girl. Jenny created a happy ambiance with a pastel-colored, painted rainbow on the wall behind the crib. And when the Marrs surprised the homeowners with their finished nursery, the homeowners surprised Jenny and Dave with news of the baby's gender: It's a girl!

With the help of the Property Bros on an episode of Celebrity IOU, Jay Leno surprised his former intern and close friend with a nursery for his first baby. Drew and Jonathan helped turn the former guest room into a functional space with floor-to-ceiling built-in storage, blackout curtains for naptime and a petite bassinet with rollers. Drew and Linda picked out the bright yellow giraffe.

Home Town hosts Erin and Ben combined historic charm with fanciful decor in this homeowner's nursery. Trim painted sage green highlights the home's interesting millwork. Striped curtains, grasscloth shades, a vibrant Turkish rug and aged wood furniture emanate Erin's signature Old World style but still feel young. The three tier rolling cart doubles as storage and a handy side table.

Nature was the number one inspiration for baby Helen Napier's nursery. Botanical prints in vintage-style frames (fixed with baby-proof plexiglass for safety) bring the outside in. Twin sconces with linen shades bring an English cottage feel. The best touch: Ben surprised Erin with a white oak, hand-built crib — made by him, of course.

It wouldn't be a Mika and Brian project without a nod to the ocean. The 100 Day Dream Home hosts gave this Florida nursery a peaceful surfer vibe with wave motif wallpaper, a navy crib and custom artwork. They also outfitted the space with an armchair instead of a rocker — which their clients' son can use when he's older.

Brian's New York clients had a rare find in the city — an apartment with a bonus room. To maximize the space's functionality, Brian designed it to double as a nursery and a guest room. An orange and gray color palette feels both youthful and sophisticated. The rounded crib and rocker have lockable casters and can be moved out of the way to allow for a murphy bed to extend all the way down.

When her longtime BFF, Cassie Schienle, told Christina she was pregnant with her second child, the Christina on the Coast host got straight to work designing her a beautiful nursery. The navy accent wall with geometric molding and a custom woodcut sign takes center stage in this SoCal space. The charming patchwork denim window seat is a nod to the room's subtle baseball theme (and it's perfect for storytime).

For her own son's nursery, Christina used all of her signature design tricks to create a breezy, coastal space. Layered rugs add textured warmth to the all-white room, while plants potted in woven baskets offer a boho-jungle vibe. An adorable hippo rocker is cute to look at and fun to play on.

For her ballet-loving client, Veronica — host of Revealed — created a romantic space with breezy rose colored drapes, salmon pink grasscloth wrapped walls and a mural hand-painted by a local artist. The antique cradle was built by her client's grandfather and has been in the family for more than 40 years.

Jasmine is the expert at making any space happy and colorful, and her daughter Hazel's nursery is no exception. She created an eye-catching focal point by affixing MDF trim boards to one wall and painting them light forest green. Then, she outfitted the room with modern, yet cozy furnishings. "I was going for pretty but not froufrou," Jasmine wrote in HGTV Magazine.

Like with most of her designs, Leanne started off with a fresh, white room for her daughter's nursery. Then she layered in textures, chic shapes and collected art for a modern-meets-free-spirited look. A multi-arm pendant mounted on the wall is a funky yet clever form of lighting. And, of course, the space wouldn't be a Leanne design without a touch of black: The sleek changing table is stylish and functional.

Tarek and Heather make a case for a black-and-white nursery. For their baby boy's room, they chose a bold palette that complements the rest of their home. A zigzag pattern stenciled on the wall has the same effect as wallpaper, but at a more affordable price point. “We thought the pattern could grow with him, but we can easily paint over it if we decide to change things up,” Heather told HGTV Magazine.

The Nate and Jeremiah: Home Project hosts leaned into a moody ambiance for their clients' nursery. Wallpaper featuring deers, owls and bunnies brings a storybook feel — especially next to the twilight blue ceiling. Nate and Jeremiah opted to float the crib in the middle of the room to maximize wall space.

When Kim Wolfe found out halfway through a reno project that her Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? client was pregnant, she called on her Survivor bestie and fellow interior designer, Chelsea Meissner, to help put together a nursery. The two created an adorable Scandi-inspired space complete with coral pink walls, a boho rug and midcentury furniture.
