Kristin Brings Her Superstar Talents to a Whole Home Remodel
Emmy and Tony award-winning superstar Kristin Chenoweth takes the stage on Celebrity IOU to give back to her long-time property managers, Adriana and Jenny. Kristin's father worked in construction, so it’s no surprise that she was all in on the opportunity to help rebuild a strong house for these two strong women. Together with the know-how and support of Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, they transform a dated home into a vibrant and welcoming living space.

A Much-Deserved Surprised For a Hard-Working Mother-Daughter Duo
“There are certain things money can’t buy,” said Kristin of her relationship with Adriana and Jenny. “They’re like a mother and sister to me. Their friendship is an unspoken love.” Upon walking into their newly remodeled home, the two were nearly speechless with happiness and gratitude. “This is the flow. The energy. You captured us!”
Before: The Entryway
The layout of the home’s existing entryway never felt optimal. A pony wall separated the mud room from the main living area. The old oak floors were yellowed and dated. Adriana and Jenny needed a fresh perspective on how to organize and scale the furniture in their space.
After: The Entryway
The design team eliminates the pony wall to facilitate accessibility and traffic flow. Recessed lighting enhances the ambiance of the space, as well as illuminates the new medium-toned, engineered hardwood floors. Moreover, the design team relocated both the kitchen and dining room to make better use of the space.
Before: The Dining Room
Before the renovation, this dining room was tucked to the side of the entryway, while the main living space in the home remained under-utilized.
After: The Dining Room
Located adjacent to the living room and the kitchen, this room serves as the new hub of the home. A new wood table — surrounded by soft, cushioned chairs — awaits hosting happy dinners with Adriana's and Jenny's family and friends.

After: An Open Entertaining Space
Kristin knows Adriana and Jenny love to entertain, so she set out to create a vibrant and inviting space. Cushioned chairs surround the wooden dining table, which is now centered in the main room beside the home’s entryway. Boasting a generous island and counter-height seating, the kitchen welcomes guests into the prep space. New pendant lighting and an area rug add warmth.

Before: The Kitchen
The kitchen was formerly tucked into an isolated corner of the house. Kristin had a vision to improve the layout and give Adriana and Jenny the kitchen of their dreams.
After: The Kitchen
Kristin was adamant about opening up the kitchen to make it more functional and suitable for entertaining. In a fun twist, paneled doors disguise the refrigerator and other appliances, but Kristin's ultimate statement? That hunter green gas range.

Two-toned kitchen cabinets marry white and dark oak into a contemporary kitchen design. The marble quartz countertops and backsplash add sleek functionality. Polished sink hardware coordinates with the drop shelving floating in front of the kitchen window, offering space for vibrant plants and serving items.

After: The Laundry Room
The design team incorporated a new multifunctional space where the kitchen used to be. Pantry storage occupies one wall of the room, while laundry appliances and related storage make the most of the square footage. In addition to a stacked washing machine and dryer, Drew and Jonathan incorporated a steam closet — perfect for dry cleaning. The two-toned cabinetry and marbled countertop extend from this kitchen, offering extra storage.

Before: The Living Room
Dark paneled walls and dated fireplace brick were the least of Adriana and Jenny’s worries in the old living room — the dirty carpeting was causing health issues. Meanwhile, a closet in the back concealed the homeowner’s washer and dryer but did nothing to insulate the space from noise created by the kitchen appliances.
After: The Living Room
Jonathan and Drew installed mid-tone hardwood floors to minimize the presence of embedded dust and other allergens. A low-pile, blue area rug (easier for the homeowners to clean) grounds the now-cozy space. A new sectional couch offers generous seating for Adriana, Jenny and their houseguests, while two brown chairs fill out the space. Framed artwork hangs on the wall under new sconces. The team refinished the fireplace with moss-green Venetian plaster. A flush-mount television sits above the fireplace.

After: The Living Room
With the laundry appliances relocated to the former kitchen, the designers were able to open up additional square footage. This made it possible to incorporate a larger sectional sofa and a sideboard for storage. The team painted the ceiling beams white and installed a new glass-paneled back door and recessed lights to brighten the room.
