At 19, Attie Jonker, who could "barely bang a nail in straight," took a job building lodges for Wilderness Safaris in his native Botswana, Africa. After years of on-the-job training, he emigrated to the United States and started AzzanArts, for which he considers himself, "owner, designer, artist and builder of all things natural." Jonker started with a tree platform for a friend's child and now produces treehouses—complete with trap doors, ladders, swings and slides—and other outdoor structures like fire pits and outdoor showers.
