Cut the fondant into long thin strips so they look like paper fortunes. Let stand until the surface is dry, about 1 hour. Use a food writer to pen “Happy New Year” and other messages on the fondant strips (Image 3). Tuck one end of the fondant fortune strips into the dipped fortune cookies (Image 4).
