DIY Wood Slice Winter Wreath
Add a slice of cheer to your front door with this easy-to-make winter wreath inspired by classic Scandinavian holiday style.

What You'll Need
- 18" chipboard wreath form
- 30-40 birch wood slices, variety of sizes
- high-temp hot glue gun
- real or faux evergreen clippings
- bottle brush trees
- snowy berry floral pick

Arrange & Glue Wood Slices
Before gluing, arrange wood slices on the chipboard wreath form, layering large slices on bottom and smaller pieces on top, varying the colors so that light and dark slices are dispersed evenly throughout. Once you're happy with the way it looks, take a picture of the arrangement on your phone. Then remove the wood slices and re-attach one-by-one with generous dabs of hot glue, using the picture as reference.

Attach Greenery
Glue fluffy pieces of real or faux greenery (we used fresh-cut Leyland cypress from the backyard) onto the bottom center of the wreath form, placing them so they lick up each side of the wreath. Continue to glue until you've reached desired fullness, stepping away every so often to check your work. Pro tip: Tuck the cut ends of your stems into the greenery so they aren't visible.
Add Wintry Elements
Remove the trunks from four, small bottle-brush trees, then nestle the trees in the center of the greenery, placing them strategically to hide any exposed stems. Attach with hot glue. Then, cut short pieces off of a faux snowy berry pick (found in the floral section of the craft store) and arrange them throughout the greenery, gluing in place as you go. Finally, pick berries off of the same floral pick and glue them beneath the trees to create the illusion of a snowy forest floor.

Maintain It
Fresh greenery stems should last a month or more in cool climates, but if yours start to brown, simply snip the dead pieces out and replace with fresh stems.
