Prep Jars

Print out the label template onto clear adhesive sheets. Add a label to each jar so the recipient knows what's inside. Cut the 'refrigerate' labels into strips and adhere them to the tops of the jars and down the side to create a tamper-evident seal after adding in the cookie dough.

Instructions

Place the flour on a baking sheet and toast at 300F for 10 minutes. You can also heat it in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally until an instant-read thermometer reads 160F. Let cool completely before using.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, stir together the cooled flour, salt, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Next, pour in the butter and vanilla extract. Mix until a dry dough forms. Then, add chocolate chips and mix on the lowest speed.

When chocolate chips are evenly dispersed, add the whole milk 1 tablespoon at a time with the machine on low speed. Scoop the cookie dough into six 4-ounce jars and twist the lids on tightly (nibble on the rest while you work).
