Beaded Bead Jewelry

Materials and Tools

scissors
tape measure
Illusion Cord monofilament
beads or crystals *
two 2" head pins
earring wires
chain-nose pliers
round-nose pliers
wire cutters
tweezers

* Note: Each beaded bead uses 12 beads.

Steps:

1. To make the beaded bead: Cut 14 inches of stringing material.

2. String on three beads and bring them to the center.

3. String a fourth bead on to one end and criss-cross the other end through this bead.

4. Pull both ends tight to form the first side in the center of the thread.

5. String one bead onto each end.

6. String another bead on to one end, and criss-cross the other end through this bead;

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to create the third side of the bead.

8. String a bead on one end and pass the thread through the end bead on the first side.

9. Add your last bead, and tie a knot to form a four-sided cube.

10. Tie an additional knot to secure. To reinforce your beaded bead, weave the ends through the bead and cut the excess thread.

11. To make an earring: Place a bead on each head pin.

12. Place the beaded bead on top. Place another bead on top of the beaded bead.

13. Using the wire cutters, cut the head pin above the beaded bead to approximately 3/8 inch.

14. Make a loop on top with the round-nose pliers.

15. Open the loop slightly and attach to the earring wires.

16. Repeat the above steps for the second earring.
