On one side of the bed sits a sand-gray textured nightstand with a modern satin brass ring pull. It’s the perfect spot for lighting, toys and bedtime books.

On top of the nightstand a table lamp is paired with a programmable sleep and wake-up light-therapy lamp that can help a child fall asleep, serve as a nightlight, and wake up them up slowly and gently.

Like the other bedrooms in HGTV Smart Home 2020, the kid’s bedroom includes a patterned carpet that adds visual interest and warmth underfoot. “I used patterned carpets throughout [the house] just to give these rooms their own personality,” says designer Tiffany Brooks.
