The smart features in this Dallas, Texas, home make it easy to relax and unwind in the main bedroom. “You can control your environment from here with the smart features, from lights and music to the TV, when you’re lying in bed,” says project manager Scott Branscom.

Assorted wall art adds a punch of personality to the main bedroom. “We did a lot of abstract artwork hung very organically, but it’s still very balanced because of the visual weight I placed between, on one side of the bed versus the other,” says designer Tiffany Brooks.

A custom two-arm iron sconce was placed on each side of the bed to illuminate the space and help keep the tops of the nightstands free for decorative items and plants, or books for nighttime reading.

Long charcoal-colored drapes cover the tall windows that add natural light to the main bedroom. “We tried to match them so they line up with the skylights above,” says project manager Scott Branscom.

The premium no-leak solar-powered skylights bring fresh air and natural light into the main bedroom. Both the skylights and the blinds on the skylights can be controlled through a smartphone app.

The skylights feature an automation system that helps create a healthy indoor climate. The advanced system monitors weather forecasts, indoor temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide levels, and uses this data to automatically open the skylights to bring in fresh air or adjust the blinds for energy efficiency.

Two modern metal accent chairs with a brushed stainless finish and upholstered with a woven jacquard fabric paired with a round ottoman create a welcoming seating area by the main bedroom’s tall windows.

The main bedroom’s area rug adds softness over the white oak hardwood floor, and was handwoven in India with wool and viscose fibers that create a luxurious texture and sheen.

A shell-white dresser offers stylish storage for folded sweaters and other bedroom essentials, with satin-brass hardware, self-closing drawer guides and cedar-lined bottom drawers. A beautiful and tough fiddle-leaf fig plant adds a touch of nature to the bedroom corner. A potted fern on an attractive faux shagreen tray on the dresser brings more greenery to the space.

The premium 4K UHD TV above the main bedroom dresser has the unique ability to serve as artwork when not in use. The TV was designed to sit flush against the wall, so no unsightly cables show.
