According to the CDC, about one in seven people living in the U.S. have a mobility impairment. And yet, finding furniture that's both accessible and stylish can be incredibly difficult.
Pottery Barn's working to change that. On July 22, the major retailer unveiled its Accessible Home collection, a first-of-its-kind line that features wheelchair-friendly tables and desks, power lift chairs, pivot mirrors and other thoughtfully inclusive products serving those living with disabilities, injuries and the aging in place community. And honestly, that isn't even the best part. To create the new collection, Pottery Barn's designers collaborated with industry experts and adapted some of their best-selling products to meet Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. In turn, you can enjoy the same looks you love but now with accessibility features.

We know — we're excited about the Accessible Home collection, too, and how everyone will benefit from more universally designed interiors. Although this collection was developed to address the needs of people living with disabilities and people aging in place, these items will lend a comfortable and inviting touch to anyone's space.
Here are a few of our favorite pieces from the collection, plus some of Pottery Barn's other universal design offerings, that are all ADA compliant.
