Air-dry clay is such a forgiving and easy-to-use medium for casual, fun crafts. So this year for Easter, hit the craft store instead of the grocery store for eggs. These eggs are simple to make, super colorful and will last from year to year.

Tools and Materials:

  • air dry clay
  • clay rolling pin
  • craft paint
  • small round sponge paint brush
  • small egg-shaped cookie cutter

1. Roll out clay onto a silicone mat or wax paper.

If you do not own a clay roller you can use something like a smooth can or jar. Aim for a 1/2-inch thickness.

2. Using an egg-shaped cookie cutter cut out the eggs.

3. Set aside to dry overnight.

4. Paint the eggs.

Using craft paint, coat the dry eggs in Easter themed colors. Depending on the paint, you might need more than one coat. Allow to dry completely.

5. Add more designs.

Using a small round sponge brush add polka dots. You can also use makers or paint pens to add any decoration you like.

Hide the eggs at Easter or use them as fun spring decorations. These eggs will never go bad so you can use them again next year; you could even repaint them white to decorate all over again.
