Materials Needed

  • white pillowcase
  • pillow insert
  • red ribbon (varied widths and shades)
  • white ribbon (varied widths and shades)
  • scissors
  • stick pins
  • fabric glue

Remove Cover

Remove the pillow insert from the pillowcase. Lay the pillowcase on a flat, clean work surface.

Remove the insert from the pillow cover. Then, lay the cover on a flat, clean work surface.

Roll Out Ribbons

Roll out the ribbons in a diagonal across the pillowcase, alternating ribbon color and type. Cut to create a 1-inch overhang on either side (Image 1). Leave the spacing between the ribbons slightly random and pin into place as you work your way down (Image 2).

Attach Ribbons

Using the fabric glue, attach the ribbons to the pillowcase, removing the stick pins as you go.

Trim Ribbon and Add Insert

Once the ribbons are attached to the pillowcase, neatly trim the excess ribbon along the edges (Image 1) and replace the pillow insert (Image 2).
