Viral miniature cuteness alert. Over the years, Lowe’s has released various versions of its practical, project-friendly buckets: pink ones, small ones, even smaller ones. Recently, the home-improvement chain introduced a new restock of its popular mini-buckets with two attractive new attributes. The 0.4-quart buckets are both food-safe and come with lids.

“We thought it was better to have the new mini buckets be food safe since it turned out so many people wanted to use them that way,” Lowe’s said on Instagram.

These new buckets are gaining major traction on social media, with hundreds of people sharing videos (#lowesminibucket) of how they’re putting the adorable mini-buckets to work for them.

This Instagrammer is using one to serve her husband his morning coffee.

This TikToker drilled a hole in the lid for a straw.

And this Dayton, Ohio, roadside restaurant is offering “dirt bucket” ice cream sundaes in them. (Crushed Oreos, gummy worms, a mini-shovel spoon — so clever!)

“Whether it’s for a sweet treat or midday caffeine shot, people are finding creative — and delicious — ways to put this mini version of the iconic Lowe’s bucket to use,” Lowe’s says.

And people are putting their money where their mouths are. Lowe’s says the mini-buckets are “flying off shelves,” with more than 100,000 purchased last week alone.

What are Lowe’s Mini Buckets?

Lowe’s 0.4-Quart BPA-Free Food-Grade Polypropylene Mini Buckets, with lids included, are just over 3.9 inches tall and just under 3.5 inches in diameter (sans lid), making them ideal for all sorts of uses. Lowe’s recommends using them for tasks including tool organization, craft-supply storage and the mixing of paint in small batches. And of course for food.

“This bucket adapts to your needs — from carrying nails to storing snacks,” Lowe’s says of the little blue buckets, which also feature a metal handle with a graspable white plastic grip “for easy carrying, even when filled.”

The lid, which snaps on, can help keep contents clean and safe, and the blue exterior is suitable for labeling or decorating.

The buckets cost $1.98 each.

Why are people obsessed with Lowe’s Mini Buckets?

The buckets have tons of five-star reviews, and some of those reviewers are kind of obsessed.

One commenter called the buckets “cute, cute, cute,” adding, “If you’re a fan of Lowe’s, it’s a must have.”

“I bought these food safe buckets for my son’s snacks,” another shared. “It’s easy for him to grab the handle and move around without spilling. The lid is a bonus so we can put it away.”

Another shopper, who headlined her review “Bucket List: Dream Achieved!!!” called the food-safe mini bucket “small but mighty, the Cadillac of micro-containers.”

“Need to carry three grapes? Done. A heroic serving of salsa? Perfect fit. It’s BPA-free, food-grade, and screams ‘responsible adulthood’ every time I clip it to my belt,” this bucket fan wrote. “Forget five-gallon buckets—those are for amateurs. This is bucket refined, bucket deluxe, bucket nirvana … this tiny bucket has changed my life.”

If you want one of the new food-safe mini buckets, you should probably snag it sooner rather than later.

“With limited availability both online and in stores,” a Lowe’s rep tells us, customers should “run, not walk to grab theirs.”
