Lowe’s Viral Mini Buckets Now Come in a Cute New Color

No doubt about it — we are truly in the era of the food-grade bucket. (Dunkin’s new beverage buckets are just the latest in a line.) Now Lowe’s, which has already gone viral with its classic blue and Valentine’s Day pink food-grade buckets, has a new hue to add to your bucket list — and it’s perfect for spring.
What color is Lowe’s new mini bucket?
It’s teal — a robin’s egg blue that seems particularly suitable for use as an Easter basket … er, bucket. Or as a planter for spring flowers. Or as a holder for spring cleaning tools. Or as an organizer for your desktop items. Or for dying eggs or storing snacks or presenting gifts or, well, lots of things.
The limited-edition bucket color, which recently arrived in Lowe’s stores, is “designed to brighten your home, office or workshop for the spring season,” according to the brand.
“As the season blooms, so does our most iconic mini bucket — now in a vibrant, refreshing Teal,” the brand says. “This mini bucket is built to inspire.”
How big is the bucket?
Described as “compact and versatile,” Lowe’s teal mini bucket has a 0.4-quart capacity and measures 3.3 inches in diameter, 3.42 in width and 4 in height. It comes with a metal handle and a matching teal plastic lid.
The buckets are priced at $1.98 apiece, lid included.
Is Lowe’s new teal mini bucket safe for foods and beverages?
Yes. Like its popular predecessors, Lowe’s new teal mini buckets are made with BPA-free, food-grade plastic. The brand says they can withstand temperatures of up to boiling (212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius) and are safe for hot beverages. However, Lowe’s warns, the buckets are “not suitable for hot fried food.” So, no fries, onion rings or hot wings, unfortunately.
How are people reacting to the new color?
While some people have expressed disappointment in the color, calling it “more of a muted sage/gray,” “seafoam” or “greenish-gray,” others are celebrating the new shade.
“It’s almost like Lowe’s knows I’m in my mint era,” wrote one satisfied customer on Instagram.
“Teal is looking good on the @loweshomeimprovement mini buckets!” another exclaimed.

The buckets have gone viral on social media, with posts racking up more than a million views across TikTok and Instagram in the first week they launched.
How are people using the Lowe's mini buckets?
People are filling them with goodies to share as Easter gifts, showing them off in their car cup holders, decorating them for St. Patrick’s Day, buying them in bulk for crafts and blinging them out bigtime. They’re using them to pot flowers and succulents, and to hold drinks and even chicks.
