Blue Accents
In one section of a garden in Douglasville, Ga., homeowners Paul and Sherry Beggs have created a vibrant seating area underneath a pergola and near a gurgling fountain. The garden was on view during the 2015 Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival, Garden Tour and Flower Show.
Wonderful Walkway
With a more extensive budget, you can create a variety of interesting outdoor spaces for you and your guests to enjoy. On their 12-acre Georgia property, homeowners Sherry and Paul Beggs designed the garden and selected everything, including the materials, for the walkways and fence, trees and plants, fountains and sculptures. They brought in experts to build structures, such as the fence and the arbor, which is covered in American wisteria 'Amethyst Falls.'
Georgia Garden with Hydrangeas
The curved lines appealed to the artistic side of homeowner Sherry Beggs, when she and her husband, Paul, designed their Georgia garden and brought in flowering plants, such as hydrangeas, trees, seating, such as benches and a swing, sculptures and structures that include a custom pergola. Their investment has created a lovely garden, which was on the 2015 Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival Garden Tour.
Wooded Georgia Garden
With a budget of up to $50,000, you can create different areas for you to enjoy and your guests to explore. This garden, with a pond, sculptures and various seating areas, was on tour during the 2015 Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival, an annual event in Douglas County, Ga.
Water Feature, Arbor and Pergola
The owners of this Georgia garden have invested in water features and structures, such as pergolas and arbors, to make their yard a showcase. They have selected most of the plants for their property, which encompasses 12 acres and shows how you can design an expansive garden for $50,000 or less. The home was on the garden tour during the 2015 Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival, an annual event in Douglas County, Ga.
Bridge Over Creek in Artistic Garden
In this expansive garden, Georgia homeowners took on the landscape design themselves. They invested thousands of dollars in structures such as a footbridge, pergola and fence, selecting sculptures and fountains, creating garden rooms, and choosing hydrangeas and other plants that flourish in the South. The hanging glass, however, was a decorative element they found in a friend's garage, says homeowner Sherry Beggs. He told her if she could find a place to put it, it was hers, and voila, it ended up in her garden.
