Kid's Halloween Costume: Vintage Golfer
Just a few easy do-it-yourself additions will turn clothes they already have into a cute Halloween costume in a jiffy.
Materials Needed:
- faux leather
- empty cylindrical oats container
- yarn
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- scissors
- child size knit hat
- child size polo shirt, Bermuda shorts (or dress slacks) and argyle socks
Embellish Hat
Create a pom-pom to top the hat by wrapping a long length of yarn around three fingers 20 to 30 times depending on the thickness of the yarn. Carefully slide the looped yarn off your fingers (Image 1) and knot it with a small piece of yarn. Cut the two looped ends to create a fluffy pom-pom (Image 2). Using a hot glue gun, attach the pom-pom to the top of a knit hat (Image 3).

Golfer Costume: Step 2
Slide the yarn off of your fingers and using a small length of yarn, tie it around the center of the yarn loops to keep them in place.

Golfer Costume: Step 1
Wrap a long length of yarn around three fingers. Continue to wrap the yarn around your fingers at least 20 to 30 times depending on the thickness of the yarn.

Golfer Costume: Step 3
Using scissors, cut the two loop ends of the yarn so that they fluff out creating a yarn “poof” ball. Using a hot glue gun, secure this poof top the top of the knit hat.

Make a Golf Bag
Measure the oats container, then cut a piece of faux leather large enough to cover it. Using a hot glue gun, attach the material to the oats container, slightly overlapping the faux leather to create a seam. Cut a long strip for the golf bag's strap, attach it to the container's inner rim and bottom, along the seam.
Golfer Costume: Golf Bag
Use the oats container to measure a piece of faux leather to be as tall as the container and long enough to wrap all the way around the oats container. Cut the leather to that size. Using a hot glue gun, secure the leather onto the oats container and begin to wrap around, securing with a glue every 5 inches or so. Cut a long strip of leather that will be used as the strap for the golf bag. Using the glue gun, secure at the bottom of the container and the inside of the top rim of the container.

Complete the Look
Dress your little duffer in traditional golf attire, then finish the look with the pom-pom topped knit hat and golf bag that can also be used to stash their candy haul.
