3 DIY Animal Looks Using Drug Store Makeup
A makeup artist shows us how to create perfect looks for leopard, bunny and giraffe Halloween costumes using makeup you most likely already have.

What You'll Need:
- eye primer
- neutral eye shadow palette (light to dark shades)
- gold or yellow eye crayon
- black gel eyeliner
- dark bronzer
- contour palette
- blush
- white concealer
- setting powder
- bronze liquid eyeliner or shadow

Eye Shadow
Apply eye primer all the way up to the eyebrows to brighten the eye area (Image 1 below). Next, apply the lightest shade of the shadow palette on the inner corners of the eyes, and apply a neutral pink on the creases of the eye as a transition color. Apply dark brown on the outer Vs of the eyes, moving farther out from the eyes for a more cat-like look (Image 2 below). Finally, apply the darkest shade of the palette on the outer portions of the eyes.

Apply a gold or yellow eye crayon all over the lid. Then apply more of the darkest shade to accentuate the outer corners of the eyes. Blend the edges with a bigger, clean makeup brush.

Using a small detail brush, apply a thick line of gel eyeliner above the lash line (Image 1 below). Make a wing for a cat-like look (Images 2 and 3 below). Draw an extension of the liner on the bottom inner corners of the eyes. Apply a medium brown shade on the lower lashes (Image 4 below). To deepen the look, apply the darkest shade over the lower lashes.

Face
Apply a generous amount of bronzer on the cheekbones, forehead and the sides of the nose, and apply the darkest shade of the contour palette over the areas you applied bronzer. Brush on some blush over the cheekbones. Finally, apply the darkest contour shade or a dark brown eye shadow to chisel the nose.

Nose + Mouth
Apply and blend white concealer on the bridge of the nose and between the nose and upper lip using a small brush (Images 1 and 2 below). Go over the edges of the white on the nose with dark brown shadow or contour shade. Apply the white concealer on the lower lip. Set all the areas you applied the white concealer with setting powder (Image 3 below).

Apply the gel eyeliner on the tip of the nose (Image 1 below), and draw a straight line down from the nose to the upper lip (Image 2 below). Use the gel eyeliner to also draw the upper lip (Image 3 below). Draw black dots using the eyeliner between the nose and upper lip for whiskers (Image 4 below).

Spots
Use the same gel eyeliner for the spots. Start by drawing Cs or parentheses in an asymmetrical pattern. We applied these in an arc around the right eye (Images 1 and 2 below). Continue these on the left side of the neck. Accent the spots with bronze, shimmery liquid eyeliner (Image 3). Coat the lashes with mascara to finish (Image 4 below). Add leopard ears and wear a leopard shirt to complete the look (Image 5 below).

GIRAFFE

What You'll Need:
- eye primer
- neutral eye shadow palette (light to dark shades)
- brown eyeliner
- white liquid eyeliner
- neutral pink lipstick
- shiny pink lip gloss
- extra-long fake eyelashes
- mascara

Apply eye primer to brighten up the eye area. Apply a medium brown eye shadow from the palette over the entire eyelid (Image 1 below). Apply the same shade on the lower lashes (Image 2 below).

Use the brown eyeliner to draw rounded rectangles on the right side of the face, from the forehead down to the mouth area (Image 1 below). Fill the spots in (Images 2 and 3 below). Outline the spots using liquid white eyeliner (Images 4 and 5 below).

Lips
Apply a neutral pink shade on the lips, and apply a shiny gloss on top.

Eyelashes
Follow the instructions to apply the eyelashes (Image 1 below). Make the lashes more seamless by coating both the natural and fake lashes with mascara (Images 2 and 3 below). Complete the look with giraffe ears and a shirt to match (Image 4 below).

- black gel eyeliner
- pure white eye shadow base
- jumbo white eye pencil
- bright pink eyeliner
- white eyeliner
- translucent powder
- white eye shadow
- soft pink lipstick

Apply black gel eyeliner to the top lid and inner corners of the eyes (Image 1 below). Apply a circle of pure white eye shadow on each eyebrow (Image 2 below). Brighten the white circles with a jumbo white eye pencil (Image 3 below).

Use the same jumbo eye pencil to apply over the mouth, chin and lips (Images 1 and 2 below). Use a big makeup brush to apply translucent powder to set all the white areas (Image 3 below).

Nose
Draw a thin line from the nose to the upper lip using the gel eyeliner. Apply pink eyeliner to the tip of the nose to make a bunny nose.

Fur
Draw hair-like strokes with white eyeliner around the mouth and eyebrow areas to resemble fur (Image 1 below). Brighten and blend the fur strokes with the jumbo pencil (Image 2 below). Set all the white areas with white eye shadow.
