Elegant + Handmade: DIY Garland Made Easy
This year, deck the halls with boughs of...whatever you like!

Dress up your home for the holidays with this simple, but elegant how-to. With floral wire, pruning snips and twine, you can turn common winter greenery into stunning garland in hardly any time at all, leaving plenty of time for everything else on the holiday agenda.

Begin by using pruning snips to cut an assortment of winter greenery into 12- to 16-inch pieces. Make bundles by arranging different types of greenery together and using floral wire to wrap the stems tightly. To create the garland chain, tie twine around one of the bundles and use floral wire to attach each bundle to the twine at the top and the bottom. For the last one, turn the bundle around and secure with floral wire for a bookend effect. Drape across a mantel, over a door or window or down the table for the ultimate holiday centerpiece.
