Handmade Wedding Bouquets

One of my favorite things to do is arrange flowers. I love combining the colors, shapes and textures of assorted blooms. I think sometimes, one of the most intimidating types of flower arranging can be wedding bouquets. But in truth it is simple, cost-effective and wonderfully satisfying to make bouquets for your entire wedding party.
There are many fabulous florists, specialty groceries, farmers' markets and floral markets where wonderful assortments of blooms can be selected or special ordered. Sometimes, it is fun to shop for blooms a day prior to the wedding with your bridal party. You can select blooms that are in season and make the bouquet together.
When purchasing blooms, select flowers with blooms that are still semi-closed. Look for blooms that are mold-free and free from browning or discoloration. The leaves should appear healthy and spot free. Consider fragrance as you select your flowers. Scents are equally important in creating memories on your special day. In the bouquet that I created, the roses and hyacinth smell delightful.
Creating your own bouquet is a terrific way to de-stress, relax, get creative and make special memories with friends and family who volunteer to help. Here is what you will need to get started.
