License Plate Room Divider
Materials Needed:
- license plates
- spool of small metal chain
- nuts
- bolts or screws
- chain cutter
- hook eyes
- S-hooks
- wrench
- screw driver
- tape measure
- pencil
Measure Space
Use tape measure to determine proper width and height for space needing division. Jot down dimensions.
Determine Palette
Spread license plates out on a long flat surface. Sort and arrange by color.
Cut to Size
Lay chain out on long, flat surface, keeping in mind each strand of license plates requires two symmetrical strands of chain. Use tape measure to determine where to cut chain in reference to height of space. Cut chain to size with chain cutter.
Attach Plates to Chain
With chain spread out on flat surface, temporarily place license plates on top of chain, leaving an even amount of space between each plate. Once layout is determined, flip each strand upside down, insert bolt or screw through front of pre-drilled hole in plate, and fasten to back with nuts using wrench and screwdriver.
Hang Strands
Measure width of each strand. Referring to strand measurements, mark ceiling with pencil. Screw two hook eyes per strand directly into ceiling. Insert S-hook into top link of chain in strand and attach to eye hook in ceiling.
