Materials Needed:

  • brown Kraft paper
  • double-stick tape
  • glue pen or hot glue gun
  • wax paper or parchment paper
  • scissors
  • fabric remnant
  • cotton string, ribbon or twine
  • small key tag
  • red ribbon and white lace

Cut Paper to Size and Tape

Stick with basic, neutral wrapping paper and dress up the package with fun design elements. The gifts in this project were wrapped with basic brown paper using double stick tape.

Decorate With Accessories

Once the box is wrapped, the fun begins. Wrap a simple piece of fabric around the box and secure it with double-sided tape, then wrap cotton yarn around the package several times. Create pom-poms with the cotton yard and glue them to a stick with the glue pen.

Finish With a Tag

It's a simple yet stunning presentation. Add a basic key tag that you can find at any office supply store for the gift tag.

Fold Wax Paper to Make a Bow

Add some flair to a gift with a non-traditional wax paper bow. First, take four sheets of wax paper cut roughly into 12" x 12" squares. Layer on top of each other and then fold back and forth like a fan and then tie in the center with a bit of string or twine.

Cut Rounded Edges

Decide what size you want the bow to be and trim the ends accordingly. For this box, the tips were rounded with scissors to create a flower-like appearance.

Fluff Your Flower Bow

Then, gently start to pull apart the different layers of the flower.
