What was the single largest challenge for this space?

Keeping the basement light and bright.

What was your biggest obstacle in this room?

Providing lots of seating via a sectional and occasional chair and having a desk that’s integral with the entertainment console.

How does the end result match up with your original vision?

I’m a super-detailed over-planner, so everything came in the right color and size by the deadline! It’s always nice when things go as planned.

What surprised you the most about this project?

This project allowed me to create a really appropriable family space that incorporates the owners’ interests and style.

What are the hidden gems?

The side table with real shagreen top, hand-carved mahogany conch shell from Negril, tonal textiles that come across as very rich looking visually.
