Small Southwestern Living Area

This petite living space mixes rustic and Southwestern styles for a feel that's warm and inviting. Decorative lath wall panels clad the exterior wall where barn doors once hung. Those same doors have been repurposed to slide over the large living room window when privacy is desired.

Wood Coffee Table Detail With Tray

Mismatched items can suddenly look organized when they're corralled together on a tray.

Contemporary Neutral Southwestern Kitchen and Living Area

No drywall was used in the renovation of this kitchen and living area. Instead, the finished birch ceilings and walls create organic warmth against the metal beams and concrete floor.

Neutral Rustic Kitchen With Wood Ceiling

The neutral palette gives a peaceful mood to this charmingly rustic kitchen that features exposed brick walls, concrete floors and a birch beam ceiling. Kitchen cabinets from the 1950s were salvaged and topped with new butcher block countertops.

Pocket Door Between Kitchen and Bathroom

For a small house, a pocket door is a useful way to separate rooms without requiring the floor space of a door that swings outward.

Rustic Bathroom Vanity and Mirror

This charming home is set up in a refurbished blacksmith shop and incorporates many of the space's original details. Here, one of the window frames is repurposed as a bathroom mirror; the vanity was built from the shop's bench.

Metal and Wood Staircase

While renovating this space, once a blacksmith's shop, the designers made no additions to the original structure. To create bedrooms, they simply added a staircase and took advantage of the building's tall ceilings to turn the old hay loft into a sleeping loft.

Neutral Rustic Sleeping Loft With Wood Floor

The upper level of the petite home has been transformed into a sleeping loft. The painted wood floors were part of the structure's original architecture (this area was a hay loft). For storage, built-in shelving and a custom hinged clothing rack were added.

Rustic Neutral Bedroom With Vaulted Roof

The nightstands and ceiling pendants in this bedroom are custom pieces designed and built by Platform Workshop.

Custom Clothes Rack and Shoes

To create hanging storage for clothes in this tiny bedroom, a custom hinged rack was installed, a smart solution that lets clothing and shoes become part of the decor.
