Before: Kitchen Countertops
Designers Angelique Baez and Sonny Hires said the owners wanted to take their once-traditional golden beach exotic granite countertop and trade it for an updated look. The designer opted for a lighter Calcutta Gold marble countertop in its place.

The former black kitchen island countertop was traded for a dark wood countertop, while the wood base was given an antique green wash.

Updated Transitional Kitchen
The finished look of the kitchen is updated, while keeping many of the original pieces in place. Baez and Hires lightened up the original cream cabinets with white paint and traded the golden granite countertop for one made from Calcutta Gold marble. The kitchen island countertop was replaced with a warm Heritage Wood distressed black walnut surface.
