Cut Graphic Fabric for Faux Pumpkin

Cut fabric into strips approximately two inches wide and four inches long. Keeping strips small will make them more manageable when gluing to curvy pumpkins.

Apply Decoupage

Place pumpkin on a piece of wax paper, parchment paper or tin foil to protect work surface from glue. Using one-inch artist brush, apply a small amount of decoupage medium to surface of artificial pumpkin. Press a strip of fabric into wet glue. Immediately brush over fabric with a generous amount of decoupage medium until fabric is fully saturated. Brush more medium on pumpkin next to fabric strip that was just glued. Place a new fabric strip on pumpkin, overlapping last strip. Continue this process until entire pumpkin is covered in fabric. Trim smaller pieces of fabric if necessary. Hang pumpkin from stem or elevate on a metal can to dry. Tip: Pumpkins with a smooth texture and shallow ridges are best for this project.
