acrylic light fixture globe
10' battery-operated string lights
(1) 28-ounce plastic food storage bowl
matte gold spray paint (or desired color)

craft knife
(1) #6 1/4" screw eye
aquarium pebbles or stones
white duct tape

A plastic food storage bowl makes a great ornament top. Cut a notch in the center of the bowl's bottom using a craft knife, then push a screw eye into the notch.

Create Hinge

Secure the ornament topper to the globe by creating a hinge using white duct tape. Cut a 4-inch piece of tape and connect the inside of the globe to the inside of the ornament top. This allows easy access to the string lights when you want to turn them on or off.
