How to Create a Pink Floral Halloween Table Setting
See how we inexpensively put together a pink and orange Halloween dinner party. We painted plastic skulls to use as vases and napkin rings, then tweaked a few everyday items to fit our chic but slightly eerie theme.
Step away from typical orange and black, pink has officially claimed its spot as the “It” color for Halloween decor. See how we created a vibrant and fun tablescape that blends classic Halloween elements with fresh, lively hues. Our standout feature is a collection of budget-friendly plastic skulls, transformed into charming vases and filled with cheerful pink and orange flowers. These skulls are simple to make, can be used year after year and are easily repainted to match your style come next Halloween.

1. Cut + Paint Skulls
Search for skulls in a variety of sizes. Small skulls are perfect for napkin rings, while medium and large skulls make perfect vases. A worktable with a built-in clamp is handy for holding awkwardly shaped skulls while cutting. No matter the type of clamp or vice you use, ensure the skulls are held securely in place. Cut the top off of each skull using a hand saw. (A pull saw works best.) For the small skulls intended for napkin rings, use heavy-duty clippers to create a hole in the base that matches the size of the hole in the top. Finish by spray painting each skull in various shades of pink.
2. Lay the Foundation
With just a few minutes and a bottle of dye, you can easily transform a basic store-bought cloth table runner to match your bright and cheerful decor. Simply follow the dye instructions to add a splash of pink and a whimsical touch to your Halloween table runner.

3. Mix + Match Plates
Everyday white dishware becomes playful when paired with pink chargers and spiderweb paper plates. Don’t be afraid to mix in disposable seasonal details to save money and add a pop of fun. For the pink chargers, simply spray paint inexpensive plastic chargers in the shade of your choice.
4. Bend Pink Candles
Pink taper candles add height and an extra splash of color. To make them even more playful, warm them for a few minutes in a glass of hot water and bend them into quirky shapes. Finish the look by adding orange and black plastic spider rings and displaying them in lovely pink glass candlesticks.
5. Finish the Skull Vases
Place a canning jar inside each skull, then fill it with water and a mix of pink and orange flowers. Dahlias and roses come in a variety of shades to perfectly complement your theme. Use larger jars for the bigger skulls and jam jars for the smaller ones. For the smaller jars, a bit of floral foam wedged at the bottom will help keep the stems upright.

6. Complete the Napkin Rings
For the napkin rings, use two colors of spray paint to create an ombre effect. Thread a cloth napkin through the two holes you made in the skulls and place each one atop a plate for a bright pop of pink on a chic place setting.
7. Pull It Together
Finish off the tablescape with a few delightful details. Spray-painted skeleton hands make charming candle holders for pink and orange votives. Add rubber snakes to the place settings for a spooky spin. And don’t forget to serve pink punch — it’s the perfect festive beverage for the occasion.
