Materials Needed

  • dome-shaped light fixture
  • latex gloves
  • wax-based gold leaf
  • masking tape
  • hot glue gun + glue sticks
  • white felt
  • artificial snow
  • Christmas village accessories

Tape + Buff

Once you’ve found the perfect light fixture for your snowy scene, take it apart and cover any glass with masking tape. For a less shiny exterior, lightly buff all visible metal with a wax-based gold leaf. Paint in the color of your choice is also a great option for making the fixture your own.

Let It Snow

Cover the base in hot glue and add a layer of white felt to resemble a fluffy bed of snow. Sprinkle with artificial snow for a bit of glitz and texture. To ensure the snow stays in place, add a thin layer of spray adhesive before sprinkling your snowflakes.

Set the Scene

Next add an assortment of Christmas village accessories, bottlebrush trees and, of course, more snow! Once you are happy with the arrangement, use hot glue to keep each piece in place. Now simply reassemble your light fixture and enjoy this adorable scene year after year.
