Cut the Pumpkin

Using a pumpkin-carving knife, cut the faux pumpkin in half. Set aside one half of the pumpkin and place the other half flat on the table (Image 2). Cut out an opening for the mouth of the black cat. Remove the cut out and make sure the opening is large enough for a child’s hand (Image 3).

Paint + Glitter

Spray paint the carved pumpkin half and let it dry (Image 1). Use the gold acrylic paint to make the eyes (Image 2). While the paint is still wet sprinkle gold glitter over the eyes (Image 3).

Add Details to the Pumpkin

Cut the pipe cleaners to size for the cat's whiskers. Line up the pipe cleaners and hot glue them to the front of the pumpkin, pressing firmly until dry. (Image 1). Cut two 2" x 2" ears out of the foam sheet (Image 2). Trim off any extra before gluing them to the pumpkin. Hot glue the ears to the top of the pumpkin (Image 3).

Attach the Frame Details

Flip the frame back over; use gold sticker letters and card stock tags to make a mini banner (Image 1). Pick a fun washi tape to attach your mini banners to your board and cut off excess string (Image 2).

Attach Finished Pumpkin to Frame

With the banner in place, attach the completed black cat pumpkin to the frame with hot glue (Image 1). Fill with treats and wow your neighbors with the best candy holder on the block (Image 2).
