Step 1
Paint a foam gourd (available at crafts stores) with brown acrylic paint. Let dry.
Step 2
Cut out felt ovals and circles for the eyes, a triangle for the beak, and a teardrop shape for the wattle. Use pinking shears or scalloped scissors to cut four different-size circles for the tail feathers. Attach all felt pieces to the gourd with crafts glue.
Step 3
Use a T-pin to poke two holes in the bottom of the gourd. Then insert an accordion-folded piece of pipe cleaner in each hole for the feet.
