gold spray paint

craft glue
faux jewels

thin-gauge wire
black card stock
gold or silver paint pen
scissors

Steps:

1. Spray-paint pine cones either silver or gold, and allow paint to dry. For a stylish holiday table, alternate between gold and silver place card holders when setting the table.

2. Add a bit of sparkle to the tips of the pine cones by adding faux jewels to the tips with craft glue.

3. Cut card stock into place cards (one for each guest) that are approximately 3-1/2" x 2-1/2". Add guests' names to cards with gold or silver paint pen.

4. Use wire snips to cut pieces of gold wire about 4 inches long, cut one for each place card holder. Wrap wire around tip of pine cone several times to secure it, and then twist end into a curl. Slide place card into curled wire and set finished place card holders at guests' places surrounded by brightly wrapped chocolates or greenery.
