Inspiration

In this dining room seen on Brother vs. Brother, a bark-look accent wall becomes a focal point while deep plum chairs contribute a sophisticated air. With modern accessories and a pared-down palette, the overall style is both contemporary and organic.

Lightened Up

Our version lightens up a bit with a nearly white accent wall that retains the wood look. Modern dining table, chairs, lighting and accessories closely mimic the inspiration space.

Bark Accent Wall

Temporary wallpaper offers the ideal option for renters or anyone wanting style without commitment. This removable wallpaper gives a subtle look of a bark wall. The style adds a woodsy feel without being dark.

A Flexible Option

To apply removable wallpaper, the old adage of “measure twice, cut once” definitely applies, and be sure to factor in seams and pattern repeats if your design warrants. We suggest planning to overlap each piece by about an inch.

Plum Crazy

Central to the original makeover from Brother vs. Brother are the plum purple chairs. For our newly remade space, upholstered midcentury modern dining chairs do the trick. Purple adds an air of elegance, but if this hue’s not your thing, opt for another bold color choice. The idea is really about keeping the overall space relatively neutral and then adding color with the dining chairs.

Floating in Air

Floating shelves add storage and display space without making a room feel boxed in. On predominately white wallpaper, the white shelves virtually fade into the backdrop.

Light and Bright

A modern white pendant light tops off the space. The organic shape fits with the natural look of the bark-like accent wall.
