Cut Fabric
Iron linen fabric, if necessary. Measure out two 13" x 22" pieces of cream linen fabric and mark cut line with pencil. Cut out with sharp scissors or rotary cutter.
Cut Acorn Applique
Print acorn template in 8" x 10" format on standard printer paper. Cut out template and pin to brown felt (Images 1 and 2). Cut felt applique with sharp scissors and remove paper template (Image 3). Apply fabric glue to backside of acorn and stick to front center of one piece of linen (Image 4). Use ruler to find center point, if needed, and press into place (Image 5).
Create Acorn Cap
Preheat hot glue gun. Apply bead of hot glue along cap line (Image 1) and immediately stick jute twine to it. Hold in place until glue cools. Continue this process, weaving jute twine back and forth until entire cap is covered (Image 2). Clip jute twine, leaving two inches to loop and form stem. Apply small dab of hot glue at top of acorn and stick twine end to it (Image 3). Allow all glue to dry before moving to step four.
