Two identical plush sofas in a rich and regal shade of emerald green offer comfortable seating for visiting with guests, enjoying the cozy fireplace or the enticing outdoor views. The living room is now located where a small deck previously sat off the back of the home.

On the wall by the stairs to the upper level hangs a custom piece of art by Southern artist Blayne that playfully depicts a small child with a crown with a bold fire engine red background. The painting offers a preview of the bold use of color seen in the bedrooms on the second floor of the home.

Identical wood console tables with an open fretwork design and gray finish behind each sofa hold stacks of coffee table books and houseplants. The eye-catching tables have a very sculptural look, with a see-through base that helps the living room feel open.

A black ventless gas fireplace was made more dramatic with a whitewashed porcelain tile façade in a brick pattern that spans from the floor almost all the way to the ceiling for a clean and modern look. A flat-screen TV with art mode that allows viewing of beautiful works of art placed above the fireplace has a customizable walnut frame that adheres with magnets and helps the TV blend with the rest of the room's decor.

The living room’s medium-tone prefinished engineered hardwood floor creates a warm and neutral backdrop for the space. “The best way to describe it would be greige,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “It’s kind of like a grayish beige mix.”

Two oval coffee tables with a flared, cage-style stainless steel pedestal base and tempered glass tops offer a spot for resting drinks, displaying stacks of design books and a vase with fresh flowers.

The sea green relaxed roman shades on the windows and two sets of French doors have a pattern that picks up the different tones and shades of green used for this welcoming living room.
