Eco-friendly, exterior building materials include both smooth and scraped synthetic limestone blocks and fiber-cement siding, a product composed of 50-percent recycled content (fly ash) and wood fiber pulp supplied from sustainably managed forests.
The home’s windows feature High-Performance? E4? glass, which prevents penetration of damaging UV rays. Further, windows decrease the transfer of heat, which reduces the amount of energy utilized for cooling or heating.
“When the winner walks in this house the first time, I want them to be excited,” says interior designer Linda Woodrum. “I want them to come in and sit down on the sofa, put their feet up, and say, ‘I’m home. I am overjoyed,’” says interior designer Linda Woodrum.
