The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel

Located in the heart of Buckhead, the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel is an adaptive reuse of an original 1950s-era building. Re-envisioned as a contemporary, sophisticated retreat, the hotel boasts gorgeous, comfortable guest rooms, as well as a supper club, outdoor garden bar and this vibrant rooftop lounge. St. Julep, their rooftop cocktail bar, sits nine stories above Atlanta and offers panoramic views of the city. Hip and eclectic, the space has a mix of atypical seating, unforgettable artwork and a bold color palette.

A Serene, Minimalist Escape

Nodding to the building’s mid-century modern history, the guest rooms put a spotlight on simple, streamlined furniture silhouettes. A muted scheme of black, white and green blend with woods and leathers, allowing the light fixtures and custom artwork to shine.

Stonehurst Place

Originally built in 1896, Stonehurst Place is a beautiful part of Atlanta’s history and one of the few Shingle-Style homes in the area, since the architecture originated in New England. Locally quarried granite was utilized as the house’s hilltop foundation, leading to its name: Stonehurst means “stone on a hill.” Former owner Barb Shadomy renovated the home with an eye to preserve the history and much of its original form so that it could welcome guests as a bed and breakfast in 2008.

The Music Room

This room is the epitome of why classic is classic for a reason. Inspired by the acanthus leaf in the capitols of the columns, Shadomy carried the design throughout the music room in the acanthus leaf drapes and custom glass finials. Low-profile, glamourous furniture gives the room a vintage Hollywood aesthetic, echoing the style of the original charcoal artwork, Lucia (Knockers V), by artist Nina Mae Fowler.

The Dining Room

Start each morning of your stay with a gourmet breakfast made with fresh, local ingredients. But be sure to take a look around the traditionally designed room. A mix of vintage and new furnishings (designed by furniture designer Barbara Barry) fill each room of Stonehurst Place to evoke an utterly timeless atmosphere.

The Fowler Suite

On the property is a carriage house that hosts two suites, one of which is The Fowler Suite. Designed as a tribute to Nina Mae Fowler (the artist featured in the music room), the space uses gray tones to mimic her chosen medium, charcoal. Hollywood glamour furnishings and Fowler’s art fill the space in style.

Kimpton Overland Hotel

Want the look and feel of a boutique hotel with quick access to the airport or the Porsche track? This is your spot. The modern exterior of Kimpton Overland Hotel is an enticing display that subtlety nods to its European motorsports neighbor. In fact, if Porsche is your love language, book one of the nine track view suites that have floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of the track. Don’t worry a bit about noise though, the hotel has three-paned windows to minimize sound.

Hotel Clermont

Found in the heart of Atlanta on the historic Ponce de Leon Avenue, Hotel Clermont houses 94 carefully curated rooms in an iconic 1924 brick building. There’s no doubt that you’re in the right place though. Just look for the 65-foot radio tower proudly declaring the hotel’s moniker. Beneath the tower is a rooftop food truck, where you can get street tacos and daiquiris.
